Through the Looking Glass
A new old site
Hakyll has been great, but it’s a huge pain to set up from scratch - when I stand up a new machine, I have to make sure I have the Haskell stack toolset setup, building takes at least an hour, and I’ve run into a bunch of weird issues and had to try to tinker with my setup to get it working. I’ve also been a little tired of the styling work. So, I picked up an old domain name again and decided to set up a new minimal site that isn’t a hassle to deploy.
I chose to use netlify because it’s fairly painless - it deploys on pushes to git master and handles the letsencrypt side, but it’s extremely easy to self-host as necessary. I’m going to port a few old posts over and see how it goes.
