She is the brightest star that’s in the sky
She is the reason every astronaut would fly
–Brave Saint Saturn, “Moon Burns Bright”
I’ve always been in love with the night sky; I live in a rather unfortunate place for this. However, whenever there are clear skies (or even if I think there will be), I lug my Celestron out into the backyard in the hopes of spotting old friends. Few other things compare to the simple joy of watching Saturn in opposition slip into view. Since I have fewer opportunities to do this, I’ve been trying to take photos. They’re not terribly great (yet!), given the ridiculous amount of light pollution and general haze in the area, but I hope to improve over time.
